The Parkview Pantera

Jordan Rice
Jordan Rice is a senior at Parkview High school in the journalism program.  Upon graduation in 2016, he plans to apply for school at two nearby colleges in particular, Emory and Georgia Tech, with a goal of acquiring a Pre-Law or Computer Science degree and moving further into graduate school. Upon finishing his graduate program his intent is to possibly go into the field of corporate law at a firm possibly within his hometown of Atlanta. When Jordan isn’t pursuing a higher GPA or fulfilling extracurricular activities to fill out his portfolio, he enjoys fantasy novels, discovering new recipes to make, and anything involving his custom self-built computer. He has high regard for the success demonstrated by his parents, who make him proud and partly shamed by having excelled in school while living much less privileged lives than his own. He cites this fact as a major contribution to his personal beliefs in regards to his education. Additionally he is devoutly Protestant and a regular church attendee. In regards to his other activities he volunteers frequently in a day-care service and also has a part time job as a soccer referee in a local park. Jordan has a strong sense of justice and morality which has lead him in the majority of his decisions so far in his life, and with his resolve to pursue a judiciary degree, this aspect plans to continue to dominate his life. His favorite quote is a constituent of this ethical quality, a quote from Edward D. Morrison, “If there is evil in this world, it lurks in the heart of man.” This quote is a prime example of Jordan’s beliefs and views concerning the nature of why humans do immoral things and serves to very well highlight his character.
