The Parkview Panthers kicked off their 2014 season against Mountain View in their first non-regional game of the season.  The game took place at The Big Orange Jungle, and the victory was brought in by Jonathan Boyd and the Panthers in a 45-21 win.  Junior wide receiver Jonathan Boyd set a new record of 143 receiving yards in the game for Parkview and was also selected as the “Overall Player of the Game.”

Mountain View controlled the ball throughout much of the third quarter. However, Parkview bounced back in the fourth quarter with a 25-yard field goal by kicker, Eric Autry and a pair of rushing touchdowns by Cameron Watson.

The panthers went on to hand the Mountain View Bears their first loss of the season.  Parkview’s next clash will be a battle with the Peachtree Ridge Lions next week at 7:30 p.m. at The Big Orange Jungle; Peachtree Ridge is also 1-0.
