Parkview Performing arts performed The Little Mermaid, based on the classic Disney Cartoon, the weekend of November 14th to November 17th. The Little Mermaid follows the story of mermaid Ariel, played by senior Arielle Reece, who longs to be human despite her father, King Triton played by Bryant Hughes, hatred for them. When she saves Prince Eric, played by Gavin Dierdorff, she falls in love with him and longs even more to become human.

To become human Ariel makes a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, played by Paige Lord. This deal has one condition Ariel has three days to get Prince Eric to fall in love with her without her voice. If she fails, she becomes a mermaid again and Ursula fails. Prince Eric and Ariel fall in love, but everytime they come close to kissing Ursula ruins the moment. When King Triton realizes Ursula has Ariel in his control he gives her triton to her and loses the kingdom. At the end of the three days, right before Eric chooses to be with Ariel,  Ursula takes Ariel back as her prisoner because she failed to kiss Eric. After seeing her father captive by Ursula, Ariel destroys Ursula’s magic and she dies. The musical ends with Triton allowing Ariel to become human and Ariel and Eric getting married.
