High Q is a game show where Metro Atlanta high school students compete. It airs every Sunday at 1:00 pm on WSB-TV. The members of Parkview’s Academic team are the competitors, representing Parkview’s elite scholars. Members who were on the show included seniors Sibo Wang, Brent Bessemer, Keaton Law, Julie Wang, Jordan Rice, and Sophomore Ansel Ahabue. These students have earned the title of elite scholar since they practice twice a week, Wednesdays and Fridays, for an hour and a half, every week of the school year. The teams compete for scholarship money, and, of course, bragging rights.

Parkview faced Douglas County High school on September 27, 2015, where they left the round as champions. Parkview previously had beat Douglas County at a score of 710 to 530. For the second round, which aired February 6, 2016, Parkview faced off Buford High and won 765-390! When asked about how he felt about winning, Sibo Wang said, “I feel fantastic.”

In order to reach this point Julie Wang says, “We won a regional tournament that allowed us to qualify to compete in High Q.” Wang has been on the team since middle school and says, “This is the first time in 15 years that Parkview has competed on High Q.”

Ansel Ahabue says, “I didn’t prepare anything special for High Q. We received a trivia book from Academic team and I study trivia on my own.”
